Alemannen-Torkel in Meersburg (Bodensee)

Rather high in terms of price, which the food couldn't quite reflect. Service was good.

The food is great and the service is very attentive. The portions are really good. My “Very Hungry Caterpillar” went home satisfied 😉 The best thing was that he felt transported back to his youth with the whitefish - that's how he remembered it. We would love to come back.

Very rustic restaurant, excellent wines and very tasty food 😋 I have already spent many very wine-filled, happy evenings there. The ambience is very cozy, the staff attentive and friendly and the corona rules are taken seriously and well implemented. I'm always looking forward to this local visit 😊

Very relaxed restaurant, drinks and food came pretty quickly and were just delicious, only the salad plate with the Maultaschen was not the best.

Unfortunately, we only had enough time here for one or two spritzers and excellent soup. On the one hand a tomato cream with mozzarella balls, on the other hand a top-quality chanterelle cream with a rich filler. We loved it. The shady little inner courtyard brought back memories of previous visits, but there was no WWW 🙂. Nice staff and a nice interior.

The food and wine are delicious, the service staff try to "organize" seats despite reservations. Still, something strange happened to us today! We wanted to have dinner on the occasion of my birthday! We had made a reservation and were shown to a table with a bouquet of flowers on it and decorated with hearts! Nobody really knew that it was my birthday and that we wanted to eat here at that time. When we wanted to leave, we were billed for the bouquet 🤔😁 the client was also not named. So the supposed surprise had a stale aftertaste ... 😐

Been there twice in the last 4 weeks. Food was always good. Not exceptional, but absolutely in line with the price performance. It would be easier for the service staff if they could speak a few words in German. The first time the lady in service had her hands full, coordinating food and drink as well as the newly trained staff. Everything worked for me, but not at other tables. You noticed that. All in all, I had a good impression and would be happy to come back again.

Unfortunately disappointing. The ambience is great, you come in and feel right at home. Unfortunately, the feeling ends as soon as the service comes to the table. We felt like we were with an authority. Work off, clean up and the next one please. The elderly gentleman didn't even try to be friendly. His two colleagues were so anti-hospitable that I haven't seen for a long time. Hospitality is different! The menu reads great. We all found something suitable. The soups were really excellent too. Unfortunately then the main course came. I had a large salad plate with chicken. Mega disappointing. No ideas on the plate, no taste, no spices, just no love cooking. Just a shame! Great location with great potential in the kitchen and huge opportunity in service. Honest criticism from a restaurateur.

Super unfriendly waiter who didn't even know the daily specials. No smile - could have been seen from the lack of mouth and nose coverage - or any form of politeness. The food (Maultaschen) was nicely presented, but without any taste. The starter salad had so much vinegar in it that your palate burned. I don't know if we had a bad day, but that was nothing!

Good restaurant with friendly staff. Food was delicious. You can't complain about the price.

We were here tonight and for the price you should really expect better. Cold fries, tinned salad and the fish didn't taste like anything. Disappointing. And the decoration was also fun, strawberries on the fries and sauce hollondaise with balsamic cream for the pork medallions: D But it is understandable that with so many restaurants in Meersburg it will be difficult to get good staff.

The food was good and the service was very friendly. I also didn't have to wait long for the food or drinks. The dessert was also excellent. You can also get excellent wine here. The portion sizes are designed so that a dessert can still fit in. I will definitely come back again.

The Baden schnitzel was supposed to be with pork, but it was with chicken. Still it was delicious. The tagliatelle were unfortunately quite salty, but were quickly exchanged. The side salads unfortunately only came 10 minutes after the main course. The service was very friendly and service-oriented to us. The Covid guidelines are somewhat neglected here. Only 1 in 5 waitresses wore their mouth and nose protection at least over their mouth. Nobody had to enter a contact address.

Location very nicely embedded in the old town of Meersburg. Outside table small but nice. Ambience inside, quaint and rustic, wine bar nice to look at. Service very good, quick and polite. Portions big and good. Prices a little higher but still in the range.

Super delicious food and good service! The food was very good, we sat comfortably outside and enjoyed the evening! On our next visit to Meersburg we will definitely come back here! Absolute recommendation!

Nice place to have dinner with good food and a good service.

The food was good, but unfortunately the staff did not know which dishes were no longer available. Dishes declared with pasta were served with (good) spaetzle without further notice. The spaghetti (children's dish) also exchanged with spaetzle. Bolognese (children's dish) was also off at 19:30. BUT: the food was good.

What a find, thank you fellow reviewers. Unpretentious food. Not over priced. Good portion sizes. The venison in spicy sauce was a particular highlight. Great for dinner. Super wine and service.

If you have ever been to Meersburg (and you know a bit about prices in Germany), you’ll know this beautiful city is a bit pricy when it comes to eating. Meals around here have a tendency to be kind of gourmet like and the prices look more Swiss than German. Fully aware of this, I tried to look for a place with decent food and reasonable prices. My search led me to the Alemmanen-Torke, a wine cellar with a tempting daily menu posted outside. The outside of the restaurant looks quite normal, maybe even boring, but when you walk in you discover a beautiful wine cellar that makes you feel you crossed a time portal and landed some 300 years back in time. The waiter was friendly and the service excellent. The food was delicious, better than expected, and the wine, oh the wine, was great. Depending on where you come from, the amount of wine per glass will make you smile (it’s a lot!). If you’re not looking for a high cuisine experience but rather for a nice meal in a beautiful room, this is your restaurant. Some 18 to 20 euros per person will be enough to enjoy a sufficiently big dish (wine included). Don’t forget to tip, it is customary in Germany. One last thing, this is a wine producing area of Germany. I know, when you thing Germany you think beer. You can get beers here as well just don’t be disappointed if they’re nothing special. Try the wine instead, trust me on this one.
